FREQUENT QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

I am always worried about new amazing products, what's the deal with this?
There is nothing magical or mysterious about  this process, however, it did take a long time to make the product able to be applied easily and quickly by novices in their own garage with minimal skills, training or equipment. Finally, everything has come together and this product is the first of it's kind to offer plating shop success in the privacy of your own home and at a fraction of the cost.

It looks like there is a lot of work to perform this procedure. Is it?
No, not at all. Think of how much prep work it would take to sand, polish, clean, mask and clear coat a set of wheels with paint. Now consider how easy it is to simply polish, clean and wipe on the ZoopSeal which would be ready for service in just a few hours rather than days of drying like paint. No masking, no adhesion problems on polished surfaces, no long drying time, not to mention clear coat paint discoloring the rim surface as well as being prone to chipping as soon as a lug nut fell on it the surface, and the paint would not last near as long as ZoopSeal.

This product seems kind of expensive. Is it?
Again, following the above scenario, a set of 4 rims clear coat painted with prep materials and paint would cost upwards of $50 if just using a spay bomb to unprofessionally complete. ZoopSeal can professionally do many sets of rims for the price of one kit, actually bringing the cost down to approximately only $ 4.64 per rim! That's less than the cost of one can of spray paint! Only 1/4 of an ounce of ZoopSeal is needed to completely treat and protect one rim! In retrospect, a powder coater could easily charger $20-$50 per rim with an much inferior result.

When was Zoopseal first developed and how long has it been on the market?
Zoopseal was developed in 1998, and has been for sale since 2000.

What is Zoopseal?
Zoopseal is a hybrid ceramic sealer, it is not a polish or wax. It is a protectorate.

What does a ceramic base sealer do?
It will impregnate into the pores of the product being treated, which will stop the process of oxidation immediately. A crisp, and clean appearance is the end result. Your product will continue to look like new without repolishing.

What can I use Zoopseal on?
Aluminum, Raw Aluminum, Brass, Chromed Plating, Stainless Steel, Anodized Aluminum Parts, Stainless Steel in Restaurant Kitchens, Outside Furniture, Awnings, and Paint.

What if I don't want to use all the product at once?

How long does Zoopseal last on my product?
So far on the test car, the "Zoop-Coupe", it's been on for 4 years and counting.

When it's time to re-apply after wearing away or damaged abuse, how and what are the steps to do this?
You will need to re-condition your product if necessary by using a mildly abrasive rim polish and rubbing off the remaining sealer as you would if there were paint on your rim. Then simply re-apply (you'll need to re-order a Zoopseal Kit) using the same method as before. Just follow the Kit instructions and your product will continue to look like new.

Will Zoopseal rejuvenate or refurbish my product?
No, it will not. It will only protect from oxidation and dulling.

Will it harm the painted finishes on my car?
No it will not.

Will Zoopseal provide protection against fresh water?
Yes, but not against underwater abrasions.

What does salt water do to Zoopseal?
We recommend that you do not have your product immerged into salt water for a length of time (over 2 hours). If exposed to salt water use soapy water and wash off the salt within 2 hours. Salt water will cause your product to discolor.

How can I get Zoopseal off my product once it is applied?
By re-polishing the product using any commercial polish.

What type of cleaners can be used on Zoopseal?
NO CAUSTIC OR ALKALINE CLEANERS. Only Zoops Cleaner is to be used on the product.

How much Zoopseal do I need on the lint free towel during the application process?
Very little!!! The towel should be barely damp, NOT WET!

Can I use Zoopseal on my radiator and will heat affect it?
Yes, you can use Zoopseal on a radiator. Heat from the radiator will help it to cure and make it stronger. We do not recommend putting Zoopseal on an exhaust, this heats up too much. Once fully cured, ZoopSeal can withstand up to 400 degrees in temperature.

Can I use Zoopseal on Magnesium?
No, not yet... It is still being tested.

Can I use Zoopseal on Copper?
No you can not! This has been tested and is not recommended.

Can I use Zoopseal on Fiberglass?
No, not yet… It is still being tested.
